Obituary for Lela Mae Miller

Mrs. Lela Mae Miller, 94, passed away on September 20, 2014, in Moss Point, MS. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clark on November 14, 1919, in Lauderdale, MS. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Charlie Bell Miller on July 7, 1935. Mr. Miller was one of the cofounders of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale, and Mrs. Miller was “Mother of the Church”. To this union seven children were born.
Mrs. Lela Miller was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; two daughters: Gracie Mae Williams and Dorothy Glass; one son, Charlie Miller Jr.; two special children: Bonnie Jean Hudson and Evonne Barnes; five sisters and one brother.
She leaves to mourn her loss: two daughters, Lela Rebecca Hall (Tommy) and Hazel McIntyre (James), James Miller, and Charlie Miller (Katherine). A special niece Eddie Jean Naylor; Special Caregivers Angela (Big Girl) and Kala; Mrs. Miller also leaves behind many grandchildren, numerous of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, from 6-8 at Forrest Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday, September 27, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale, MS at noon.
