Obituary for Larry Ernest Stephens

Larry Ernest Stephens, 68, of Petal passed away on September 12, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born on March 15, 1947, to Herbert and Pauline Stephens in Thomasville, Alabama.
Larry was a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed gardening and was known for his giant blueberries. Larry was very proud of his football career at Thomasville High School and as an Auburn University Tiger.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Susan Cumbie; two daughters Melissa Taylor (John) and Staci Goff; three grandchildren Stephens Randall Taylor, Catherine Diane Taylor, and Braxton William Goff; four brothers Charles Stephens (Susan), Bruce Stephens (Sammie), Bennie Ray Stephens (Helen), and Don Stephens(Rosaline); numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Pauline Stephens, a sister, Betty Carol, and two brothers Gerald Stephens (Joann) and Randy Stephens (Peggy).
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Forrest Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in Forrest Chapel at Forrest Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
